Distributed by Walt Disney The Disney Signature series highlights the work of Disney's all time greatest artists. The watches presented are designed by those artists and feature well known characters and scenes from their careers. The watches are displayed in beautiful hard wood boxes with the artists signatures burned into the lids. This one is unique in that it also has the artists personal autograph signed onto the wood box lid.  This set also includes a certificate of authenticity and a pamphlet that shows photos of the artists bio and describes their history and contribution to Disney audiences the world over. 

The Tinker Bell watch presented here features a work that is a tribute to Marc Davis, famed Disney animator, and was released in 1995 to commemorate his 60th year as a Disney animator. Marc Davis passed away in 2000.  This one is extra special because Marc Davis also personally autographed the wood box Note the 2 signatures on the box, one etched in and one hand signed.  You are purchasing a set in new, unworn, unused, working condition. Three hand analog Japanese Quartz movement, Case diameter: 32mm, brown leather band 18mm, mineral crystal. Signed by the animator on the wood box.

About the animator Marc Davis:

Marc Davis  (1913 – 2000) started with Walt Disney in 1935 on Snow White and later went on to develop and animate the final design characters of Bambi, as well as Flower and female skunk. Also in his credits:  Cinderella, Tinkerbell, Alice and the eye glasses creature for Alice in Wonderland, Maleficent, Auora (Sleeping Beauty), Cruella de Vil (101 Dalmatians). Davis was responsible for character design for both the Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion attractions at Disneyland. In 1989 he was also the recipient of the much-coveted Mousecar (the Disney equivalent of an Oscar). He was one of Disneys famed "Nine Old Men" the  core animators of Disney animated films that include among others: Ollie Johnson and Frank Thomas and was revered for his knowledge and understanding of visual aesthetics.

NOTE: We have only 1 signed Marc Davis wood box, but there were 3 Marc Davis designed watches in the signature series: Cruella, Maleficent, and this Tinker Bell. We therefore have a listing for each of these 3 watches that are offering this signed box. Once one of them sells, ALL of 3 of the listings will by necessity, be removed. We DO have others of the watches without Marc's actual autograph that will remain listed ( at a significantly lower price). We also have listed, 2 other Marc Davis Maleficent watches on which he personally autographed either his bio pamphlet or the Certificate of Authenticity. Those items will also be listed separately. These items were acquired from the granddaughter of a close personal friend of a top Disney executive in Walt Disney's office and she recently inherited these and many others of the rare Disney items that we are listing. These include several that we have never seen elsewhere and that we have only one of.
